Here’s a timeline of our significant contributions to the community:
2009 - The Beginning
• House Parties at Flava Factory: East Charlotte saw the rise of house parties that evolved into larger events at Flava Factory, setting the stage for future community gatherings.
2012 - The AMCS Bodega
• Partnership with Nameus Clothing: In collaboration with Nameus and Alexx Kgray, we launched the first AMC Bodega at the Chop Shop. This festival became a hub for art, music, and clothing, celebrating Charlotte’s diverse culture.
2013 - Expanding the Bodega
• Crenshaw 2 Charlotte: Hosted at the Neighborhood Theatre, this event featured Nipsey Hussle, bringing a legendary turnout and solidifying our role in the community.
• AMCS Bodega 4: One of our favorite shows, this event sold out 1300 tickets with 300 more people waiting outside, highlighting the demand and support for local creatives.
2014 - 4 The City
• Collaboration with Deniro Farrar: We put together the 4 The City show at Tremont Music Hall, furthering our mission to showcase and support local talent.
2015 - AMCS Bodega 5
• Partnership with Live Nation: We took AMC Bodega on tour, aiming to spread the Charlotte vibe to other cities. Though plans changed, this effort underscored our commitment to elevating local culture, and we booked superstar Currency to headline our 2015 event.
2018 - Culture Connect and Beyond
• Culture Connect: Continuing our tradition of impactful events, we hosted shows under strict conditions to ensure quality and community benefit. This led to partnerships with major venues and free community events like A Sunday in Charlotte.
